Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect when you contact us, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It was last updated on 23 October 2026.
Who we are
MAKE Bespoke Furniture designs and makes architectural and residential cabinetry and furniture. Our workshop is at 9 Jullian Close, Banksmeadow, in Botany, Sydney, and we work with clients across Sydney, including Bellevue Hill, Mosman, the Eastern Suburbs, Palm Beach and Hunters Hill.
We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy and deal with it in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. The quickest way to reach us is through the enquiry forms on this website; you can also write to us at the workshop address above.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to understand your project and to reply to you. If you send a project request (for architects, designers, builders and developers), that means your name; your role; your email address and phone number; your practice or company; your project's name and its suburb or address; the type of project and the stage it has reached; what documentation you have on hand; the scope of joinery you need; the materials you have in mind; your required lead time and target installation date; your budget range; how you heard about us; and anything further you choose to tell us.
If you request a homeowner consultation, that means your full name; your email address and phone number; the suburb of the property; the property type; which rooms you would like help with; whether you have drawings or sketches on hand; your preferred time frame and budget range; how you would like us to contact you; and your description of the property.
If you contact us another way, we collect the details you choose to give us, which may include your name, contact details, property details, drawings, plans, sketches, photographs and correspondence.
Our forms do not ask for, and we do not want, sensitive information such as health, political or religious details, or anything about your race or ethnicity. We do not ask for card numbers, bank details or government identifiers, and we take no payment through this website.
How we collect it
We collect your information directly from you when you complete one of the enquiry forms on this website, or when you email, telephone or write to us. Where a project is referred to us by an architect, designer, builder or developer, we may receive your details from them; if that happens, we will tell you who we received them from when we first contact you.
The forms include a hidden field that never appears on screen. It exists only to catch automated spam; if it is filled in, we discard the submission.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and talk through your project;
- prepare a quotation, design proposal or scope of works, and arrange a consultation or site visit;
- manage a commission you have engaged us for, including communication, documentation, fabrication and installation;
- keep records of our dealings with you, including for accounting and warranty purposes; and
- improve how we work and understand where our enquiries come from.
Giving us your information is voluntary. Without your name and contact details we cannot reply, and without details about the space we cannot give you useful advice, a scope or a price. You can browse the rest of this website without submitting anything.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Your enquiry is delivered to us through the email system we use for enquiries and is held in our day-to-day business records. We keep it only for as long as we need it to respond to you and, if we work together, to deliver, account for and support your project. After that we delete or de-identify it, unless we are required to keep it by law.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade or disclose it for marketing benefit. We may share it with:
- service providers who help us operate, such as the email system that delivers your message to us and our website and accounting providers. They hold your information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes;
- consultants we engage for your project, such as stonemasons, metalworkers, glass or stone suppliers, or trades working on your installation, where they need your details to quote or carry out the work;
- the architect, designer or builder on a project, where you are a homeowner and their involvement requires it; and
- professional advisers, insurers, or where we are required by law, a court or a regulator.
Marketing
We do not add you to a mailing list from an enquiry form, and we do not send promotional email unless you ask us to. If you would like to hear from us occasionally, ask us and we will add you; you can ask us to stop at any time.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access is limited to the people who need it to answer your enquiry or deliver your project, and we use password protection and access controls on the systems that hold it. If an eligible data breach occurs, one likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the notifiable data breaches scheme.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us at any time for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything you believe is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete, or ask us to delete it. Send us a message through the enquiry forms or write to us at the workshop address and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity first, and we will tell you if we cannot give you access and why.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us and we will look into it. Send us a message through the enquiry forms or write to us at the workshop address. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
